TripperWiFi is a portable, easy-to-use and SIM-free patented virtual hotspot device that allows its user to have constant Internet connectivity on the go. Once switched on, anyone in the vicinity can connect to the device with a password. The user can connect up to 5 devices/ users at one time – be it smartphones, laptops, tablets, e-readers, game consoles, or any other device that requires Internet.

When travelling out of the country for work or leisure, the TripperWiFi can help its user to send emails or access information; make Voice Over IP calls, surf the web or use maps, book services like cabs, shows; or even for entertainment activities like social media, music apps and the likes.

TripperWiFi uses a SIM-free patented virtual technology, which eliminates swapping of SIM cards when a TripperWiFi device user is travelling to different countries. Due to state of the art technology, the user can connect the TripperWiFi hotspot device to any of his/ her devices as well as devices of the other users sharing the TripperWiFi device connectivity and get connected to a local network operator in the country of travel to access the Internet. All this is just at a click of a button for a TripperWiFi user.

The TripperWiFi Kit can be rented for a minimum time frame of 5 days and maximum of 60 days.

In order to help a user be travel ready, we recommend travellers to book their TripperWiFi devices a minimum of 5 days prior to the date of departure.

A TripperWiFi hotspot device can connect up to 5 WiFi-enabled devices/ users, all at one time. These include smartphones, laptops, tablets, e-readers, smart cameras, and smart watches among others. Devices that can connect to WiFi/ internet can also be used with the TripperWiFi device.

  • Keep the power button (on the side of the device) pressed until the screen lights up
  • Wait for a few seconds for the TripperWiFi device to start up.
  • The device will ask you to activate the day pass. Press the power button for 3 seconds and your day pass will be activated. The day pass expires at 11.59 pm every day. The user is required to activate the day pass post 12.00 midnight inorder to use the day pass for that day)
  • Jump to screen 3/6 by pressing the power button.
  • An SSID user name and password will reflect on the screen of the device.
  • Enable the WiFi on the device the user would like to access the Internet on.
  • Then select the SSID and enter the PWD (password) that reflects on the TripperWiFi device screen 3/6 in to the user’s device.
  • The user's device will now have Internet connectivity and is ready to go!

Depending on the country of travel, a TripperWiFi user can choose the appropriate plug type. Soft press and slide the slider on the side of the universal charger to eject the required plug type. Just simply insert the USB cables into the charger and plug in the Universal charger in the preferred electric socket. After using it as required, please soft press and slide back the slider to push back the plug used.

A TripperWiFi device user can choose the desired USB plug (Apple or Android) to charge the device in use. Just flick the plug to pick the desired plug.

The TripperWiFi Device has a screen for the convenience of the user. By short pressing on the power button, the screens keep changing. Different screens flash different messages, as listed below:

The TripperWiFi works on a day pass system. It will ask the user to activate the day pass everyday with a message “activate day pass?”. The user is required to press the power button for 3 seconds to activate the day pass. A day pass ends at 11.59 pm local time.

    Validity: The amount of daily data quota remaining until the next renewal

The TripperWiFi device is a WiFi hotspot that gives access to the Internet only.. TripperWiFi users can, however, make calls using Voice over IP (VoIP) and send messages through various softwares and applications available that use the Internet for such services.

Booking Queries

All you need to do is register with TripperWiFi through our website just one. For your ease, we have a one-time registration that will also help you with all your future bookings.

In order to help a user be travel ready, a TripperWiFi device should be booked at least 5 days prior to the date of departure.

In order to avail optimum service to our users, it is very important to share accurate details. TripperWiFi will require

  • Full Name
  • Rental Dates
  • Places of Travel
  • Number of TripperWiFi devices required
  • Delivery Address
  • Pick-Up Address
  • Contact Number
  • Email ID (the user should have access to this email ID while he/she is travelling as well)
  • Scanned copies or photographs of Passport (front pages and address page)
  • Scanned copy or photograph of PAN Card.
  • sGST number, if applicable

TripperWiFi allows its users to make changes in the rental dates. In case of change in rental dates, the changes need to be intimated to TripperWiFi (on support@tripperwifi.com) at least five days prior to the start of the rental period. If the user intends on extending his/ her stay, TripperWiFi should be intimated at least two days prior to the end of the rental period using the ADD Days tab on the website or by using the Chat Support.

The TripperWiFi devices are shipped to the potential user 5 days prior to the rental start date mentioned at the time of making the booking. Hence, TripperWiFi should be informed before that in case of changes in the address of drop or pick-up location, the user can intimate TripperWiFi via email to support@tripperwifi.com or on TripperWiFi Chat on www.tripperwifi.com. However, if the device has been shipped, the order will have to be canceled and the user will be charged a cancellation charge as per the policy mentioned in the terms and conditions of the user agreement.

Yes, the device can be used while visiting multiple countries in one trip. Once you cross borders, the device will automatically latch on to the local network of the next country. There could be a temporary loss in network coverage as the device will be switching to its preferred network connection in the new location. However, incase the TripperWiFi does not connect to the local network of the new country being visited, we request the user to restart the device.

TripperWiFi’s network partners are among the largest network operators across the globe. The users can be assured of strong and fast connectivity in most areas. However, certain remote and uninhabited areas could face network coverage issues. Also, the network can be irregular while moving on high speed like trains or in tunnels, underground areas, etc.

There are times things go wrong. Sometimes it is our fault and sometimes it is not. But we assure TripperWiFi’s users our total dedication and support to solve any issue pertaining to the device that may arise during their travel. For your convenience, we have constant customer support at your disposal.

Mobile phones and TripperWiFi work on different networks. While TripperWiFi connects to data networks, mobile phones use cellular data.

The TripperWiFi device must be carried in a traveller’s hand luggage. As the mandatory approvals have been printed on the back of the device, a user will have no issues to carry it with his/her other devices. However, feel free to carry the kit in your check-in luggage.

The TripperWiFi device latches on to a local network operator with connectivity only on land. However, once you return to or are close to land, the chances of connectivity are higher. The TripperWiFi device is unable to provide its user with connectivity when up in the air or out on sea/ any water body.

Data connectivity mainly depends on the coverage in the area the hotspot device is being used in. A strong coverage ensures better speed. TripperWiFi has partnered with global network operators, guaranteeing normal 3g or 4g speed, whichever is usually available in the vicinity. Unless the user is in a poor coverage area, there should not a problem in data speed.

The TripperWiFi device is a portable and functions smoothly.

A fully charged TripperWiFi device can last up to 10 hours, depending on the usage. The TripperWiFi kit consists of a micro-USB cord and a universal charger, with two USB ports that is also an illuminated night light, to charge the device. For optimum use, it is advised to keep the power on the device off when not in use as well as while charging the device. Full charge (0-100) while the device is in off mode is around 4 hours.

Switching off the device at night is recommended to avoid unnecessary internet data loss that can be due to any updation of the user’s devices that are latched onto the TripperWiFi device.

Logistic Queries

Once booked and all the correct details are shared, the TripperWiFi kit can reach a user anywhere in India before the date of travel, provided the booking is done well in advance (at least 5 days prior to the date of travel).

TripperWiFi user is required to share the details of his/her return as well as the pick-up address in India at the time of booking the device. Once the user returns to India, our representative will visit pick-up address the very next day. Please return the entire kit with its contents just as you received it. Kindly refer to the Return policy details in the terms and conditions for further information.

Billing Queries

Rental payments and deposits for the TripperWiFi device can be made through various modes of payment.

Once the booking for a TripperWiFi device is made, the user will receive details of the booking via email on the registered email id. Following that, the user will receive an invoice for the transaction made. Please note, any other important information will also be intimated through email.

The TripperWiFi booking can be cancelled before the start of the rental period.

  • If the booking is cancelled less than 5 days prior to the start of the rental period, 50% of the total invoice amount will be deducted. The remaining 50% will be credited back to the mode of payment.
  • If the booking is cancelled more than 5 days prior to the start of the rental period, 10% of the total invoice amount will be deducted. The remaining 90% will be credited back to the mode of payment.

Please note the refund amount will be credited within 7 to 10 working days.

Yes. There is an 18% GST applicable on the rental amount as per the Indian Taxation Laws.

A refundable security deposit of Rs 999/- will be charged in addition to the rental amount. This amount will be released once the entire kit is returned to our representative in its original condition. In case of loss/ damages to the TripperWiFi device or any of its accessories, an amount proportionate to the loss/ damages will be recovered from the user. Incase the loss/ damages exceed the amount of deposit amount, the user shall be liable to pay TripperWiFi the amount to the extent of loss or damages caused. For more clarity on the same, please refer to the terms and conditions of TripperWiFi.

Data Usage Queries

TripperWiFi works on a day pass system. On renting a TripperWiFi device, the user gets access to unlimited Internet data. However, the Daily data quota will be as follows:

The Day Pass is valid from 00:00 to 11:59 pm as per the country the TripperWiFi device has been started in on that particular day. However, if the device is used in several countries on the same day, the day pass will end at 11:59 pm of the country the device was started first on that day.

Also, in Europe, the TripperWiFi Device will follow the UK time zone.

The TripperWiFi device will ask the user to activate the day pass everyday with a message “activate day pass?”. The user is required to press the power button for 3 seconds to activate the day pass.

Unused data from the daily data quota will not be carried forward to the following day.

Yes the data usage can be checked on the TripperWiFi device. Simply short press the power button till screen 4/6 is visible. The data usage as well as the validity of the day pass will reflect on that screen.

Generally 50MB of data is enough for around 250 emails. This can differ and be much higher if the emails contain attachments.

Similarly, a normal webpage requires anywhere between 200 to 500 KB of data. But a website with media content like photographs or videos will use significantly larger amount of data. A WhatsApp call consumes around 740 KB while a Skpye call consumes approximately 875 KB. A WhatsApp video uses 3MB/minute and a Skype video call will consume around 3.4 MB/ minute.

Rapid consumption in data is possible when the Internet is being used for downloading or streaming audio, video or updating applications. Users are advised to keep their automatic updates of applications off in order to use the allotted data optimally. Also, users are advised to switch off TripperWiFi device at night when not in use to avoid unnecessary consumption of internet data.
